What is PTO?
The Parent Teacher Organization supports the educational environment of our children through enrichment, entertainment, and educational activities. We seek to provide an effective communication link between the parents, the faculty, and the administration at Southern Highlands Preparatory School (SHPS). Our goal is to remain approachable for our parents and families.

What do we do?
We plan fun events and activities during the year. These enhance our children’s learning environment and curriculum. We also host fundraising events, which generate the resources to provide educational and extracurricular activities and events. PTO funds are used to benefit the entire school. We are financed solely through family donations and annual fundraising.

How can I get involved?
To get involved, email southernhighlandspac@gmail.com. Specify if you are emailing to donate, volunteer, or for more information. To help everyone stay informed, we will share information through email and flyers. You can also find us in the school lobbies during the year with signup sheets for your convenience. To get updates about PTO events, just write your name and email on the PTO email signup sheet. Sometimes, we will also send signup sheets to classrooms. You can fill them out and give them back to your child’s teacher!

Who can I contact with questions?
Families can contact us at any time via email. Families can contact us at any time via email. We also have a PTO mailbox in the school lobbies. We love your help and support! PTO events and activities help your child, so please sign up to help with at least one event this year. If you are new or don’t know much about an event, that is okay! PTO Board Members are here to help and guide you.

How can I help with fundraising?
Families can help raise funds for the PTO through donations and fundraising programs. Direct donations are not meant to replace other fundraising. For direct donations, please email southernhighlandspac@gmail.com.

When and where are PTO meetings held?
We will have meetings throughout the school year, scheduled as needed depending on sub-committees and events scheduled for that month. We send emails and post flyers for these meetings.
