From the Principal:
What’s going on at SHPS in October? As I walk around our school I can see that the children are full of smiles, engagement and learning. The fall weather is approaching and with it comes so many opportunities to explore nature and talk about change. The teachers are planning activities and focusing on themes that their students love. The Beginners class have been exploring color, emotions, and now transportation. Our three year olds are going to focus on bats and spiders next week. The Pre-K classrooms are working on themes like community helpers, bats, nocturnal animals and later Halloween!! Our Junior Kinders are working so hard on handwriting, sight words and exploring with apple science. Next they are moving on to spiders and pumpkins! The biggest news for October is all things Halloween! You hear children talking about costumes, candy and trick or treating. Even the teachers AND principals dress up for our big Trunk or Treat event (parents you can too)! Get ready to have so much fun! Parent Teacher Conferences are just around the corner. Your child does NOT have school that day but we do offer complimentary child care during your scheduled conference time. November 2nd is the conference day and the teacher will have a sign-up sheet in the classroom so that you can schedule an appointment to meet with her. Read More >>
